Hi everybody! After a year long hiatus, I’ve decided to relaunch this blog and go back to the thing that has been my passion for over a decade now- writing about the big topics of the day, both politically and culturally.
I took the break because, as many of you know, I spent the second half of last year working for Rick Caruso who ran for Mayor of Los Angeles. Sadly Rick didn’t win, which meant that many of the problems we faced continue to grow and get worse (that is the topic of my next article, in fact).
Despite Rick’s loss, I remain passionate about trying to tackle the many challenges we are grappling with as a city, state and country. I’ve spent this year exploring various opportunities and trying to figure out the best way for me to get involved and help solve our various crises. I also, if I’m going to be fully honest with you- my dear friends and readers- had some issues on a personal level that I needed to address in terms of my mental health.
But now I’m ready to dive back in and get back to work, and I hope you’ll all join me in this renewed endeavor of mine. Please subscribe, read, and feel free to reach out and engage with me as often as you’d like. For me writing has always been a two way street- it’s a dialogue, a conversation with the reader, where we get to contemplate why we are where we are and how we can build a better future together.
I welcome your feedback, ideas, suggestions, or just general comments in response to my pieces. I plan on casting a pretty wide net- sure politics will probably be the predominant theme of my articles, but I also will be touching on more personal topics that are relevant and of interest to me based on some of the events that have taken place in my life as of late.
In addition to this blog I also intend to start up my “Duke’s Download” interviews on Instagram Live which I did over the course of the last few years. I have some pretty diverse and exciting guests lined up, so I look forward to sharing those with you as well in short order.
I can’t thank you enough for the good will you have all shown me over the years. It’s been quite the amazing journey, and I’m excited to see what comes next. I have no doubt it’s going to be even better and more eventful than the last 31 years that have been full of so many incredible experiences. I appreciate your support more than you know.
With gratitude,
Duke.
Glad to be here! Thank you!
Günther
