How James Cameron's iconic 1984 film predicted the future

This year marks the 40th anniversary of probably my favorite film of all time, “The Terminator”. I remember watching it, along with its sequel “Terminator 2”, for the first time as a young boy and the profound impact it had on me. Not only was it hugely entertaining but, despite being an action and science fiction film, it also felt incredibly real.
